Morbi Ceramic Industry to Stop Buying Propane Due to Gas Company's Arbitrariness
The Morbi cluster, which uses the highest amount of propane in the country, is being sold propane gas at exorbitant prices. Ceramic industrialists are furious over this.

According to estimates, the ceramic industry is incurring a daily loss of 1 crore rupees due to these high prices: Industrialists have immediately called a meeting and opened a front against the gas company.

Morbi: The ceramic industry in the Morbi cluster, which consumes the highest amount of propane gas in the country, is being supplied propane gas at the most expensive rates, leading to anger among ceramic industrialists. As a result, ceramic industrialists held an urgent meeting today and decided to launch a campaign against the gas company by stopping the purchase of propane gas.

According to ceramic industrialists, the Morbi ceramic industry uses propane and LPG gas as an alternative to pipeline-based natural gas, which is cheaper to use. Despite a decline in gas prices in the international market, the company supplying propane is providing gas at a high price of 5,000 rupees per ton. Therefore, the Ceramic Association held an emergency meeting today, Saturday, and decided not to buy gas from syndicated and exploitative dealers henceforth.

According to the Morbi Ceramic Association, despite a decline in international prices of propane and LPG over the past three months, instead of supplying gas according to international prices, the propane supplying companies have formed a syndicate to create a monopoly and are supplying gas at high prices. Since tiles are exported, the high gas consumption is increasing the cost of production, and the Morbi industry is unable to compete in the international market.

According to industrialists, the Morbi ceramic industry consumes approximately 40 lakh cubic meters of propane gas daily. If any cluster in the country uses the most propane, it is Morbi. However, the price of propane gas in Morbi is higher compared to Rajasthan and other states. As a result, the Morbi ceramic industry is suffering a daily loss of 1 crore rupees. Now, until the gas company's arbitrariness stops and prices are reduced, the ceramic industry will not buy propane gas.
